Graduates of the program will be prepared for senior-level positions in various healthcare settings such as state, local, and private hospitals, government agencies, nursing and residential care facilities, home healthcare services, and physicians’ offices. They can take up roles such as hospital administrators, nursing home administrators, healthcare marketing directors, healthcare recruiters, and many more such roles. Because of the high demand, significant responsibilities, and education requirements, LNHAs can expect to make almost six figures a year. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that medical and health service managers have a median annual salary of $101,340.

If you do not schedule and take the examination within 60 days, all fees will be forfeited. This letter will provide instructions on how to sign up for the national examination. You can apply using the toll-free telephone number or website provided in the letter. Go to the NAB website fill out appropriate information and pay the national examination fee.
Once your application is approved, you will receive an approval letter in the mail that provides you with the date and time of the state examination you were approved to take. Seating is limited for these examinations and we do not accept "walk-ups" on the date of the examination. Please pay attention to the time listed in your approval letter. If there are enough approved applicants, an afternoon examination may be held and your approval letter will provide you with the time of the examination you were approved for. A license which is not renewed by the licensee's expiration date is delinquent and all practice rights are terminated. Failure to renew a delinquent license within three years of expiration date will result in license cancelation.
Emergency Preparedness
Mississippi state law requires that Nursing Home Administrators have a license issued by this Board. Licensees are required to renew their license every two years and complete the required number of continuing education credit during each renewal cycle. Graduates of the program will be able to take up roles such as ancillary services directors, clinical project managers, nursing home administrators, direct care coordinators, informatics directors, compliance officers, facilities managers, and marketing directors.
The applicant must inform the NHAP if the program is put on hold for 30 days or more, and request approval to restart the program. Please allow up to 30 days processing time for all program change requests. An official transcript from the applicant's college/university provided in an unopened envelope. The NHAP will return transcripts that appear to be opened without reviewing them. The preceptor will work with the applicant to develop a 1,000-hour training outline based on a pre-training assessment of the applicant's education and work experience.

To be approved, the internship must be structured in accordance with the Administrator-In-Training Program Guidelines. Internships started prior to receiving the Board's written approval will not be accepted. License Nursing Assistant

The applicant's preceptor is responsible for submitting evaluation reports to the NHAP within 10 days of completing each quarter, or every 250 hours, of the 1,000 hour AIT training program. The preceptor must indicate the appropriate quarter on the evaluation report form, changes that were made to the program, and attach any supporting documentation, if necessary.
Consideration will be given to out-of-state certificate programs to satisfy Qualification 5 only for Administrators-of-Record in out-of-state nursing facilities. If you substituted two or more years of service as the full-time Administrator-of-Record of an out-of-state nursing home within the last five years to satisfy Qualification 3, the substitution also applies to Qualification 5. A qualifying nursing home is defined in Article 28 of the New York State Public Health Law and regulations promulgated thereunder, or comparable facility recognized under similar statutes of other states or jurisdictions. Once a license has been canceled, the only way for the licensee to be licensed again is to go through the initial application process and meet all initial licensure requirements. A Nursing Home Administrator who meets the eligibility criteria for serving as an AIT preceptor and is approved by the Board can earn a maximum of 20 CEUs in a 2-year period. As with all CEUs, anyone serving as a preceptor must keep copies related to the approved preceptorship for a period of no less than 4 consecutive licensure periods. Do not include sensitive information, such as Social Security or bank account numbers.
